Lom was confiscated from Poachers by the forestry department in Bokeo
Province along with Fa and Dinh.
All three are orphans and share a very strong bond, providing each other
with the comfort and companionship that they desperately need and would
have received from their mothers. Each of the young bears were
named after the elements with Lom meaning ‘Wind’,
Dinh meaning ‘Earth’ and Fa ‘Sky’.
Lom is the male of the group and a real character. He is fun and
mischievous and has a very cheeky glint in his eye! He can be a little
apprehensive about approaching new playthings but once he’s happy with
them there’s no stopping him! He particularly enjoys playing with his
wicker ball, especially when we put pieces of banana inside for him to
extract.
Like the others he loves the log pile and will drag twigs and leaves
into the house for further inspection!
Lom is very particular about being fed on time and will huff and puff
if he suspects his food is late. The keepers think he can tell the time
as he seems to know exactly when his food should be ready! |
