Named after the province in which he was found Keo
was confiscated by the forestry department in Bokeo Province.
Keo is one of the smaller males and is a little
shorter than others his age as his growth has been stunted from
malnourishment as a youngster. What he lacks in stature, however, he
more than makes up for in personality! He has no problem at all with his
short legs and is cheeky, confident and pretty smart. If there is
something interesting going on or new to check out he’s the first one
there, and often the quickest to figure out how to extract food from the
new enrichment toys.
Keo is very sociable and playful and gets along
with the whole group but has a special bond with Xaykeo. The two of them
spend much of the day play fighting, rolling around and chasing each
other up and down the trees.
He is very curious and will often stand on his back
legs to get a better look. If he thinks he’s missing out on something he
will comically raise his left front paw to draw attention to himself.
Oh and he absolutely loves bananas and sweet foods,
always picking them out first in the scatter feeds. Only when they are
gone does he reluctantly go back for the greens! |
